YAROSLAVL, October 4 – Novosti. The loud sounds that frightened the residents of Kaluga are associated, according to the Federal Air Transport Agency, with the overflight of supersonic aircraft, said the governor of the region, Vladislav Shapsha.
On Tuesday afternoon, messages appeared on social networks about sounds similar to explosions. According to netizens, the sounds were so loud that windows shook. Similar impressions are described by the inhabitants of Tula.
“In social networks, people report claps that were heard in different parts of the region. Operational services do not record any incidents,” Shapsha wrote on his Telegram channel.
He suggested that the reason – in supersonic aircraft. And a little later he published a confirmation in his channel: “The flight of supersonic aircraft over the territory of the Kaluga region was confirmed by the Federal Air Transport Agency.”
The GUMCHS in the Tula region also confirmed that there was no information about accidents and emergency situations in the region. “Presumably, the source of the sound was the aircraft breaking the sound barrier,” the press service of the department said.
