MOSCOW, October 4 – Novosti. The Swedish Coast Guard said the gas leak from the Nord Stream 2 pipeline continues. This was reported on the website of the service.
“The situation with a smaller leak in the Swedish economic zone remains unchanged. The leak is still ongoing, and a spot with a diameter of about 20 meters is visible on the sea surface,” the release says.
It is specified that the Coast Guard conducted a review of the leak from the air on Tuesday at 11:00 local time (12:00 Moscow time).
The day before, Gazprom reported that the pressure in the damaged Nord Stream gas pipelines had stabilized, gas leaks had stopped, and gas was being pumped out of another Nord Stream 2 pipeline to check its integrity. The Swedish Coast Guard, for its part, said that “smaller” leakage from the pipeline continues and even increases slightly.
A gas leak at Nord Stream was discovered on September 26 in four places at once. According to the operator company Nord Stream AG, the accident is unprecedented and it is impossible to estimate the repair time. The German and Danish authorities did not rule out sabotage as the cause of the emergency.
Earlier it was also reported that from September 1 to 3, in the area of Bornholm Island, where gas leaks later occurred, a US Navy helicopter was circling . In addition, the Americans flew over the gas pipelines on September 10 and 19, on the night of September 22-23 and from September 25 to 26.
The Kremlin called the state of emergency on gas pipelines an act of international terrorism. According to Vladimir Putin , “sanctions are not enough for the Anglo-Saxons”, they have begun to destroy the pan-European energy infrastructure.
