The market of knitwear after the departure of Western brands was filled, said Putin

MOSCOW, 4 Oct – Novosti. Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with Ivanovo Region Governor Stanislav Voskresensky discussed the production of knitwear and noted that the market, which had become freer after the departure of Western brands, was immediately filled.
During the meeting, Voskresensky, in particular, told the head of state about the launch of the largest factory in the history of the country for the production of knitted fabrics, thanks to which the domestic production of knitted fabrics will increase by a third. According to him, after the departure of Western clothing brands, talented entrepreneurs from different regions are striving to take their place, and they need guaranteed supplies of fabric.
“The investor already intends to expand the project, although it is already the largest one. Another investor is building the same knitwear factory literally nearby. What does this mean? That the investor sees the opportunities that are opening up, believes in the country, implements his projects, achieves success, and thereby is increasing the production base of our country,” Voskresensky said.
The president asked where the raw materials come from, the governor explained that they are differentiated – some are taken from Russia, some are still imported, but one way or another “before, these investors were just engaged in trade, but now they believe they are engaged in production.”
“Very good. The market became freer and immediately turned out to be full,” Putin summed up.
