MOSCOW, October 5 – Novosti. Pentagon statements about possible strikes by multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) in Crimea confirm the involvement of the United States in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, said Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
On Tuesday, US President Joe Biden announced a new $625 million package of US military aid to Ukraine, including four HIMARS, 32 artillery pieces and 200 armored vehicles. In turn, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Laura Cooper said that GMLRS guided missiles for HIMARS systems supplied to Ukraine by the States are capable of hitting the vast majority of targets on the battlefield, as well as to the Crimea.
“(Such statements) both directly and indirectly confirm the direct involvement of the United States in this conflict, which creates an extremely and extremely dangerous situation,” Peskov said, answering a question about how the Kremlin assesses the Pentagon’s statements about possible strikes on Crimea .
