
SIMFEROPOL, October 8 – Novosti. In Crimea, issues of launching a ferry crossing to Kerch, as well as alternative ways of connecting the peninsula with mainland Russia, are being worked out, Crimean Transport Minister Nikolai Lukashenko told Novosti.
On one of the sections of the Crimean bridge, a fuel tank caught fire at the tail of a freight train. The locomotive with part of the cars was brought to the Kerch station. Emergency work is underway, the Crimean Railway reported . Shipping in the Kerch Strait was not suspended, Novosti was told in the press service of Rosmorrechflot .
“Currently, this work (the launch of ferries) is underway, yes. All possible alternative options for arrival and departure to the Republic of Crimea are being worked out, including ferries,” Lukashenka said.
