The expert spoke about the danger of chat bots with fake lists of mobilized

MOSCOW, October 8 – Novosti. Telegram channels distribute links to chatbots that offer to check whether a person is on the lists for partial mobilization, but in fact, this is how scammers collect data from Russians, which poses a threat to both the citizens themselves and their loved ones, while the information of the attackers is unreliable , Alexander Pozharskaya, an expert at the For the Rights of Borrowers Foundation, told Novosti.
“There are chat bots that collect personal data of citizens. We found three bots in the category “Checking in the lists for the mailing of the agenda”. In the category “Checking in the lists of mobilized people” – four. That is, a citizen enters his data, and the bot gives him information about whether he will be called up or not, or whether he is on the lists of those mobilized or not. These are scammers who, taking advantage of the moment, collect personal data of citizens,” she said.

In addition, in these bots you can see not only yourself, but also any person, including a loved one, the expert noted. She added that there are “absolutely many more” such bots than have been identified so far. “Links to these bots appear every day and are distributed in completely different chat rooms using word of mouth technology, as well as in not the most picky channels,” Pozharskaya said.
At the same time, she explained that the scheme is not new and has already been “tested” after the start of a special military operation. Only then the legend was that relatives could find out the status of a fighter who went to the NWO. “There is no reliable information, both then and now, in these bots,” Pozharskaya stressed.
“The danger is that under the pretext of providing information, personal data of a person and significant information about him are sent to the bot: profession, status, place of work, registration address, family composition, etc. Potentially, disclosure of such information poses a threat not only to the security of citizens and their loved ones but also national security,” the expert believes.
Partial mobilization has been going on in Russia since September 21, according to a presidential decree. According to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu , it is needed to control the front line of 1,000 kilometers and the liberated territories in Ukraine . A total of 300,000 people will be called up. Earlier, the portal “Explain.rf” has already reported that fake lists regarding partial mobilization are being distributed on social networks – then it was a list of military registration specialties, the owners of which are allegedly subject to conscription in the first place.
