SIMFEROPOL, October 9 – Novosti. Residents of Energodar and its suburbs are left without electricity, water and communications for almost a day due to shelling by Ukrainian troops, Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region, told Novosti.
“After yesterday’s shelling, there is no electricity, communications, water in the city, and also in the suburbs. Refrigerators have defrosted in stores. In hospitals, diesel engines are started to support critical patients and for operations,” he said.
The thermal power plant, which is located next to the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant , was also shelled, Rogov added.
“Yesterday they destroyed <…> an open switchgear, and after that the possibility of supplying electricity to the city was disrupted. Repair teams are trying to repair it – they are immediately subjected to targeted fire, both by artillery and shock drones,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
On the eve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine , at least 15 rockets from the Grad MLRS were fired at Energodar and the Zaporozhye NPP. During the shelling of the Victory Park and the city beach, four civilians were injured.
According to Rogov, the Kyiv regime has concentrated significant forces of militants in the Zaporozhye direction. They continue shelling Energodar, the risk of storming the ZNPP remains high.
During the special operation in Ukraine , Russian troops liberated about 75 percent of the Zaporozhye region, but the regional center remains under the control of Kiev. From September 23 to 27, a referendum was held in the liberated territories, in which 93.11 percent of those who voted were in favor of joining Russia. On September 30, President Vladimir Putin and the heads of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, the Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics signed agreements on the admission of new territories to Russia.
