
MOSCOW, October 9 – Novosti. Since the beginning of October, Ukrainian troops have significantly increased shelling of Russian territory in the Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod regions, according to the FSB website.
“Over the past week, more than 100 shellings of 32 settlements in the Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod regions were recorded using multiple launch rocket systems, cannon artillery, mortars and unmanned aerial vehicles,” the statement said.
The department noted that one local resident was killed during the shelling, five people were injured, including a child.
In addition, two electrical substations, 11 houses and two administrative buildings were destroyed in the border settlements, eight border crossing points were damaged, the service said.
Since February 24, a military special operation has been underway to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine. Vladimir Putin called it the task of protecting people who have been subjected to abuse and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years. According to the president, the ultimate goal is the liberation of Donbass and the creation of conditions that guarantee the security of Russia itself.
From September 23 to 27, referendums were held in the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, in which the vast majority of citizens voted for joining Russia. On September 30, Putin and the heads of regions signed agreements on the admission of new territories to Russia.
