Thus, in the area of Novaya Kamenka, Russian artillery strikes on the advancing column of the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine frustrated the enemy’s attempt to concentrate troops. In addition, the Russian army defeated another five Ukrainian columns in the areas of the villages of Chervonoe, Novovoskresenskoye and Petropavlovka. The Armed Forces of Ukraine lost more than 80 people in this direction, two tanks, 22 armored vehicles, seven infantry fighting vehicles, a Polish Crab self-propelled gun, two American M777 howitzers and four vehicles.
In the Andreevsky direction, Russian troops repelled the attacks of two Ukrainian motorized infantry companies near Belogorka and Davydov Brod. Up to 90 Ukrainian servicemen, one tank, 12 armored vehicles and three vehicles were destroyed there.
In just one day in the Nikolaev-Krivoy Rog direction, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to over 200 people, three tanks, more than 40 armored vehicles, three guns and seven vehicles.
In addition, Russian troops repelled enemy attacks in the Lugansk direction – there the Ukrainian army lost more than 120 fighters. The attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also turned out to be unsuccessful in the Zaporozhye direction – about 100 servicemen were destroyed there. In the Krasnolimansky direction, the Ukrainian military conducted reconnaissance of the front line of defense of the Russian troops and did not take active offensive actions, the Defense Ministry added.
Since February 24, Russia has been conducting a military special operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine. Vladimir Putin called its task “the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years.” According to the president, the ultimate goal of the operation is the liberation of Donbass and the creation of conditions that guarantee the security of Russia itself.
