
BLAGOVESCHENSK, November 7 – Novosti . The Blagoveshchensk-Heihe bridge across the Amur will allow maintaining cargo turnover between China and the Amur Region during the off-season, the government of the Amur region reports.
The work of the Blagoveshchensk-Heihe international bridge and the implementation of the Blagoveshchensk Dry Port project were discussed at a meeting chaired by Governor Vasily Orlov.
The “Dry Port of Blagoveshchensk” in conjunction with the international bridge across the Amur will expand the region’s logistics potential in both import and export directions. Navigation on the river will soon be closed, and the bridge will temporarily become the only land-based international transport corridor from China in the region. Previously, during the off-season, the exchange of goods between China and Russia stopped on our territory,” Orlov said.
According to him, more than 4,900 vehicles crossed the border during the five months of work on the international bridge. These were trucks with cargo and imported equipment, which is distilled under its own power.
Valeria Repkova, Director General of the Agency for the Development of Project Initiatives (GK Region), said that the construction of the Kanikurgan customs and logistics terminal is currently underway. In the customs clearance zone, an additional 5,000 square meters of a temporary storage warehouse was put into operation, the equipment of a container site and an administrative and amenity complex, and the construction of transfer complexes are being completed.
The Dry Port of Blagoveshchensk is being created in the area of the Berezovsky-Vostochny railway station. The first stages of its construction will ensure an increase in cargo turnover to 1.2 million tons per year, in the future it can be increased to 2.5 million tons.
According to the authorities, the consolidation of export and import cargoes on the territory of the dry port will allow the formation of regular rail, sea, road and air routes to the Russian Federation and China . In 2023, it is planned to start construction of the first stage facilities, it is also planned to include the dry port in the Priamurskaya priority development area.
Traffic on the first cross-border Russian-Chinese automobile bridge across the Amur was opened on June 10, 2022. The bridge is two-lane, its length is 1080 meters, the total width of the carriageway is 11 meters. The total length of the crossing is about 20 kilometers. This includes six kilometers of road in China and 13 kilometers of access roads in Russia, in which another 278 meters is a bridge over the Kanikurgan channel. 630 trucks, 164 buses and 68 cars will be able to pass through the bridge every day.
