PARIS, November 24 – Novosti. The French food company Bonduelle, despite the difficulties, is not going to leave the Russian market, which also allows it to deliver to Central Asia, the company’s CEO Guillaume Debros said on the air of the BFM Business TV channel.
“Obviously, we are monitoring this situation on a daily basis, but we (in Russia ) have three factories, and we decided to stay, because food, just like pharmaceuticals, is a key sector. We don’t want to have, apart from the geopolitical crisis, also food. This is our responsibility. These factories also allow us to provide for all the states of Central Asia, and this is 90 million people,” Debros said.
He noted that he does not consider it unethical to continue business in Russia.
“No, I don’t think so, because our mission is to provide people with food, not to wage war against the population of Russia, Kazakhstan and Central Asia. On the contrary, we want to ensure that, as a manufacturer of essential goods, we continue our mission, fully complying with international sanctions and despite the fact that it is difficult to work,” he added.
Debros said the company will continue to raise prices for its products. “The level of inflation is such that we cannot carry this load alone. We must raise prices and we will continue to do so. Inflation simultaneously affects energy prices, packaging, wages. This is a situation unprecedented in the last 25 years,” he said. .
Earlier it was reported that the increase in food prices in France in September averaged 7.6%. Inflation in France rose to 6.2% in October, breaking the July inflation record of 6.1%.
