MOSCOW, November 24 – Novosti. It is necessary to develop a “Gold Standard for Remote Electronic Voting”, which will be able to regulate the work on the DEG at different levels, said Oleg Artamonov, Deputy Chairman of the Territorial Election Commission for Remote Electronic Voting in the 2021 and 2022 elections.
“We need to choose right now, literally now, how we will work out this document together with you, which we can call the “Gold Standard of Remote Electronic Voting”, with which we can continue to come to the CEC, come to the Public Chamber, come to the election commissions, come to the developers of remote electronic voting,” Artamonov said during the round table “Remote electronic voting: yesterday and tomorrow.”
He noted that more and more work needs to be done with remote voting, with a large number of regions.
“Actually, what I wanted to propose to the parties is to propose the creation of an inter-party working group to develop the Gold Standard of the DEG,” he addressed the meeting participants.
Such a document, according to him, will be able to help regulate the work on remote voting and point out shortcomings in the preparation for it.
