
MOSCOW, October 25 – Novosti. A criminal case has been opened against Russian Minister of Transport Vitaly Savelyev for participating in the preparation and conduct of a special operation, the office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine reported .
As noted in the agency’s Telegram channel, “a suspicion was reported to the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, who took part in the preparation and conduct” of the special operation. The Minister of Transport was declared suspected of complicity under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: preparation for waging war and illegal transportation across the border. The prosecutor’s office claims that Savelyev “assisted the Russian Defense Ministry in moving personnel, weapons and military equipment” to the borders of Ukraine and on its territory.
Savelyev has headed the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation since November 2020.
Back in early March, criminal cases were opened in Ukraine on an encroachment on the territorial integrity of the country against the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu , the Chief of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov , the head of the Russian Guard Viktor Zolotov , the director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin , the director of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov , the Minister of Internal Affairs Vladimir Kolokoltsev , Deputy Head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev , Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin and Head of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko .
Russia has been conducting a military special operation in Ukraine since February 24. During it , referendums were held on the territory of the LPR , DPR , Kherson and Zaporozhye regions on joining the Russian Federation. At a meeting of the Security Council of the Russian Federation on October 19, Vladimir Putin said that Ukraine refused to negotiate and continues to shell Russian territories, by the decision of the president, martial law was introduced in four new regions of Russia.
