MOSCOW, October 25 – Novosti. Energy Minister of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko suggested that Europe use underground gas storage facilities (UGS) in Ukraine, where 15 billion cubic meters of capacity are free.
“Gas prices are at their lowest level in several months. A great opportunity to use Ukraine’s largest underground gas storage facilities in Europe with 15 billion cubic meters of free capacity. Additional gas volumes will be needed this winter. And the downtrend will continue,” Galushchenko wrote on his Twitter.
After the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, Western countries began to impose sanctions against the Russian Federation, in particular, on Russian energy resources. Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that the policy of containment and weakening of Russia is a long-term strategy of the West, and sanctions have dealt a serious blow to the entire world economy.
