MOSCOW, December 29 – Novosti. A criminal case on causing death by negligence was initiated after a fire in the north of Moscow, in which a small child died, Yulia Ivanova, senior assistant to the head of the capital’s head office of the RF IC, told reporters.
Earlier, in the capital’s head office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, Novosti was told that the fire occurred in a high-rise apartment. Personal belongings and furniture burned on an area of ​​15 square meters. The fire has already been extinguished, four people managed to save, one died. Later , the Investigative Committee informed that a six-year-old child had died.

“The Timiryazev Interdistrict Investigation Department … initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence). According to the investigation, on December 29, 2022, a fire broke out in an apartment of a residential building located on 800th Anniversary of Moscow Street , as a result of which a boy born in 2016 died,” the message says.
It is specified that the mother of the child was taken to the city hospital with burns.
Ivanova confirmed that the investigation is considering different versions of the fire, including careless communication with fire.
