NIZHNY NOVGOROD, September 30 – Novosti. About 10,000 people took part in the rally-concert “Let’s not abandon our own” in Nizhny Novgorod, organizers of the event report.
The event was dedicated to supporting the results of referendums in the DPR , LPR , Kherson and Zaporozhye regions on joining Russia .
“The rally was attended by representatives of industrial enterprises, public organizations, parties, veterans, residents of the region, representatives of the LPR, DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions – about 10 thousand people in total. The organizers were public patriotic organizations of the Nizhny Novgorod region,” the message says.
The head of the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of the ” Young Guard ” Ivan Ryabtsov said that he had recently returned from Mariupol , where, together with other youth, he delivered humanitarian aid, where he worked in a humanitarian center and in a hospital. “It’s very difficult for people there, and we tried our best to help them. Today I came here to support the decision of our president. In this situation, this is the only right, adequate decision,” he said.
Tatyana Murtazina, a representative of internally displaced persons from Donbass , said that she had been waiting for this event for 8 years. “Each of us is a Russian at heart, and we returned home. We are together,” she said.
Referendums on the issue of joining Russia were held from 23 to 27 September in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. In the DPR, 99.23% of those who voted for joining the Russian Federation, in the LPR – 98.42%, in the Kherson region – 87.05%, in the Zaporozhye region – 93.11%. On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the heads of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions signed agreements on the annexation of regions to Russia and the formation of new subjects within the Russian Federation.
