WASHINGTON, September 30 – Novosti. The United States does not change its position on Ukraine’s membership in NATO and remains committed to the alliance’s “open door” policy and the need to follow existing procedures, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy has previously requested NATO membership for Ukraine under an accelerated procedure.
“With regard to NATO and Ukraine, our position has been and remains clear and the same as it was. We fully support NATO’s “open door” policy and the involvement of countries that aspire to this in NATO.” he said at a press conference.
“There is a procedure for this, and countries will continue to follow this procedure,” Blinken added.
