MOSCOW, September 30 – Novosti. Soldiers-conscripts of the forthcoming conscription will serve on the territory of the Russian Federation, mainly in the regions located in the vicinity of the place of conscription, said Rear Admiral Vladimir Tsimlyansky, Deputy Head of the Main Organizational and Mobilization Directorate of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces.
“The activities of the upcoming conscription are in no way connected with the conduct of a special military operation in Ukraine . As before, it will be carried out within the time frame established by the legislation of the Russian Federation and in a planned manner. All conscripts, regardless of their specialty, will be sent to units and undergo military service in territory of the Russian Federation,” Tsimlyansky answered the question of whether the conscripts would go to serve in the special operation zone in Ukraine.
“As a rule, conscripts are sent for military service to nearby regions located in the neighborhood of the place of conscription,” Tsimlyansky said.
For example, conscripts from Kamchatka, Chukotka , Sakhalin , the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk and the Sea of Japan , if they are fit for service in the Navy for health reasons and other requirements, are sent, as a rule, to units and ships of the Pacific Fleet. Conscripts from the Murmansk and Arkhangelsk regions – in part and on the ships of the Northern Fleet, and residents of the Kaliningrad region – to the Baltic Fleet .
“If we talk about conscripts from the city of Moscow, they have a chance to go to serve in almost any region of Russia, but the final decision will be made by the draft commission headed by the heads of municipalities,” the Rear Admiral added.
He also stressed that there is no talk of any mobilizations, appeals of students studying in universities.
“Everyone calmly goes to classes, no one will call them up and mobilize them,” Rear Admiral assured.
The draft commissions make decisions taking into account the suitability of the conscript for health reasons, the level of education, the available training in the military specialty and the results of professional psychological selection.
