Director General of the VGTRK Oleg Dobrodeev was awarded the state award of the People’s Republic of China – the “Friendship Award”, the Chinese government highly appreciates the role of the TV company in strengthening relations between the two countries, according to a congratulatory letter addressed to him from the head of the China Media Corporation Shen Haixiong.
“I was very happy to receive the good news that you were awarded the high state award of the People’s Republic of China – the Friendship Prize. On behalf of all the employees of the China Media Corporation, I would like to warmly congratulate you on this event and express my sincere respect and deep gratitude to you for your great personal contribution to promoting cooperation between the media of China and Russia and promoting the rapprochement of our peoples,” Shen Haixiong wrote in a congratulatory letter.
Since the establishment of the Chinese government’s “Friendship Award” in 1991, Dobrodeev has become the first international partner of the China Media Corporation to receive this award, he said.
“The Chinese government highly appreciates the important role of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company under your leadership in developing Sino-Russian relations of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation in the new era, and recognizes the results of our bilateral cooperation,” Shen Haixiong wrote.
According to him, the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company and the Media Corporation “are fighting together for objectivity and dissemination of the views of China and Russia.”
“I am confident that under the strategic leadership of the leaders of the two states, we will be able to take our friendship and interaction to a new level. I am also convinced that by joining forces, we will make a great contribution to the development of Chinese-Russian relations in a new era and the creation of a more honest and reasonable world order” Shen Haixiong summed up.
In November last year, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree awarding Shen Haixiong with a state award of the Russian Federation for his contribution to strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.
