EU discusses gas imports with Norway under medium-term contracts

BRUSSELS, September 30 – Novosti. The European Union is negotiating with the Norwegian side on the possibility of replacing gas imports at a spot price with supplies under medium-term contracts with a price corridor, European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson said at a press conference after an extraordinary council of EU energy ministers.
“On the ongoing discussion with our trusted partners. There is an energy dialogue with Norway, there is also a working group that is negotiating what we can do to replace the current volumes, which are traded at disputed prices, with medium-term contracts that will follow contractual price corridor,” she answered a question about negotiations with the Norwegian side.
