“Farmer’s Island” opened in Vladimir with the support of SME Bank

“Island” is located in one of the major shopping centers of the city. The assortment of the store includes draft milk, fermented milk products, bakery products, cheeses, tea, sausages and semi-finished products.
“Our role in joint work with the SME Corporation is to provide domestic agricultural producers with affordable financial support, thanks to which small and medium-sized businesses can sell their products. By the end of the year, we plan to open several more such islands,” said Petr Zaselsky , Chairman of the Board of SME Bank , quoted by the press service.
In the Vladimir Region , the Farmer’s Island project is being implemented by the SME Corporation with the support of the regional administration. “Farm products are in great demand among consumers, but organizing their own trade by farmers always requires additional financial costs and time. “Farmer’s Island”, uniting producers on the principle of cooperation, provides Vladimir entrepreneurs with the opportunity to devote more time and effort to their own production, shortening the path from farmer to buyer” – said the director of the regional department of agriculture Konstantin Demidov, whose words are quoted in the message.

The operator of “Farmer’s Island” is the agricultural processing supply and marketing consumer cooperative (SPSSPC) “Vozrozhdenie sela”, uniting agricultural producers of dairy and meat.
“To implement the project to create the Farmer’s Island, our cooperative was granted a loan from SME Bank, which allowed us not only to purchase equipment and repair the trading floor, but also to purchase products, increasing the number of suppliers to 14 SMEs. This is not the limit, we plan to expand cooperation with local manufacturers,” Nikolai Sergeev, chairman of the SPSSPC, comments.
Potential suppliers can apply to participate in the Farmer’s Island project as a supplier through the SME Digital Platform. RF .
Currently, with the support of the SME Corporation, 17 “Farm Islands” have been organized in Novosibirsk, Omsk, Ivanovo, Nizhny Novgorod, Yaroslavl, Vladimir, Rostov, Kurgan and Smolensk regions , the republics of Bashkortostan, Tatarstan and Crimea, as well as in the Udmurt Republic .
