St. PETERSBURG, September 30 – Novosti. Governor of the Novgorod region Andrey Nikitin called the conclusion of agreements on the admission of new regions into Russia the restoration of historical truth and the beginning of the restoration of a country where Nazism is impossible.
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday at a ceremony in the Kremlin signed the Treaties on the admission of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics to the Russian Federation and the formation of new subjects in Russia.
“Certainly, we welcome four new entities to our great country… The day when the president arrived in Veliky Novgorod – the day of the 1160th anniversary of the founding of Russia, is also the day of the 1140th anniversary of the annexation of Kyiv to Novgorod. “For me personally, this event means the beginning of the restoration of the country in which I was born, the country where there was no inequality by nationality, where Nazism and fascism were impossible. Of course, no one will return the Soviet Union, but those who want to live in Russia, to be with Russia should have this opportunity,” the governor of the Novgorod region added.
Nikitin assured that the region will continue to provide assistance to the sponsored Vasilyevsky district of the Zaporozhye region.
“This work has not stopped here. Specialists from there come to us, our specialists work there. I think that in the near future we will meet with the head of the Zaporozhye region and the leadership of the Vasilyevsky district and discuss the main issues. We have implemented the tasks of preparing for the autumn season together, then We will see what we will do in terms of priorities,” he said.
