WARSAW, September 30 – Novosti. An inventory of bomb shelters is being carried out in Poland, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of the Republic of Blazej Pobozhi said at a press conference on Friday.
“An inventory of such places is being carried out, first of all by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Fire Service, they are inspecting. But not all shelters are at the disposal of the city authorities, some are at the disposal of the local authorities, but, of course, they will be checked,” Pobozhi said.
Earlier, the head of the State Atomic Energy Agency (PAA), Lukasz Mlynarkevich, called on Polish citizens not to use iodine-containing drugs on their own initiative.
Speaking about the situation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant , he said that the PAA had conducted a number of simulations, the results of which show that Poland is not in danger even in the most dramatic scenario.
Earlier it was reported that in connection with the situation at the Zaporizhzhya NPP, the Polish authorities are distributing iodine tablets in the regional divisions of the State Fire Protection.
Zaporozhye NPP is located on the left bank of the Dnieper near the city of Energodar . This is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe in terms of the number of units and installed capacity – the plant has six power units with a capacity of 1 gigawatt each. Since March, it has been under the protection of the Russian military. The Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that this step was justified in order to avoid leakage of nuclear and radioactive materials. The Ukrainian military continues to regularly shell Enerhodar and the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant adjacent to the city.
At the beginning of September, an IAEA mission headed by Director General Rafael Grossi arrived at the ZNPP . The head of the delegation of ” Rosatom ” and employees of the Zaporizhzhya NPP led the delegation of the IAEA through its territory and showed the sections of the station that had been damaged during the shelling of Ukrainian troops. Two IAEA employees remained at ZNPP on a permanent basis. As a result of the visit of the mission, the IAEA published a report in which it confirmed the fact of shelling of the ZNPP.
