“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemns the illegal acts of “recognition of independence” and “accession” to the Russian Federation of the regions of Ukraine occupied by it,” the statement says.
According to the Polish Foreign Ministry , “Ukrainian Kherson, Donetsk, Lugansk and Zaporozhye regions remain part of Ukraine in accordance with international law.” Poland “does not recognize and does not recognize the results of the pseudo-referenda held in these areas on September 23-27 this year, as well as the decrees of the President of Russia promulgated on September 29 and 30 on the annexation of these regions.”
The position of the Polish Foreign Ministry is that “these acts constitute a clear violation of international law and are yet another daring attempt by Russia to appropriate part of Ukrainian territory.” “The international community cannot remain passive in regard to this egregious violation of the basic principles of the international order,” the statement said.
At the same time, Warsaw calls for “a decisive and urgent increase in military support for Ukraine and the introduction of new sanctions against the Russian Federation.” “We stand for the continuation of efforts for the complete international isolation of the Russian Federation. We absolutely recognize the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within internationally recognized borders,” the statement says.
For its part, Poland promises to continue military assistance to Ukraine.
