
EKATERINBURG, September 30 – Novosti. The police are looking for two teenagers who put out the Eternal Flame in Nizhny Tagil, Sverdlovsk Region, Valery Gorelykh, head of the press service of the regional head office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, told Novosti on Friday.
The incident took place the day before on Glory Square in Nizhny Tagil, where the actions of the teenagers were recorded by CCTV cameras. The recording shows how two boys run up to the Eternal Flame, after a few seconds it goes out, the children run away. According to media reports, the teenagers put out the flames, deciding to take a small need at the memorial, while a couple of passers-by pass by very close by, who do not make any remarks to the schoolchildren. An investigation has been organized into this matter.
“Officers of police department No. 17 of Nizhny Tagil are aware of this state of emergency. The information was received from representatives of the administration of the district on whose territory the memorial complex is located. The incident was registered in accordance with the established procedure. Verification activities were entrusted to the police from the juvenile affairs unit. Currently, PDN inspectors are working in nearby schools in order to identify the young vandals, as well as to prevent such an emergency in the future,” the source said.
According to Gorelykh, parents of teenagers face responsibility for the improper upbringing of their own children, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs will send an official submission to the heads of educational institutions to intensify the patriotic education of the younger generation.
“I think that the director of the school and the class teacher, where these young vandals are studying, should think about whether they are in their place, isn’t it time to change jobs when their pupils commit such acts?” – said Colonel Gorelykh.
