
MOSCOW, September 30 – Novosti. Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions have a common destiny with Russia, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“The choice of millions of residents in the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions is our common destiny and a thousand-year history,” Putin said, speaking in the Kremlin following the results of the referendums.
The head of state added that the inhabitants of these territories “carried love for Russia through the years,” despite all the trials.
Referendums on the issue of joining Russia were held from 23 to 27 September in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions . According to the results of processing 100% of ballots in the DPR , 99.23% of those who voted for joining the Russian Federation, in the LPR – 98.42%, in the Kherson region – 87.05%, in the Zaporozhye region – 93.11%. Putin said last week that Russia would support the decision, which will be made by the residents of Donbass , Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
