SOCHI, September 30 – Novosti. Sales of vouchers to the resorts of the Krasnodar Territory fell by 30 percent amid the announcement of partial mobilization, Aleksan Mkrtchyan, vice president of the Alliance of Travel Agencies (ATA), told Novosti.
In his opinion, the decrease was also influenced by not always accurate data on the implementation of partial mobilization, distributed on the Internet.
“All this turmoil contributed to the fact that sales fell. Foreign – by about 80 percent, in the Krasnodar Territory – by 30,” Mkrtchyan said. He added that the decline is observed not only in the tourism sector, but also in the trade and restaurant industries.
At the same time, the situation with booked tours looks more stable. “Cancelled bookings are few, fortunately, in Russia, about 10 percent, more abroad. We keep the situation under control, we explain that there is no point in canceling yet,” Mkrtchyan summed up, suggesting that with a positive development of events, sales will begin to recover already within a month.
In Russia, a partial mobilization has been announced by presidential decree since September 21 . It is planned to call for a total of 300,000 reservists.
