MOSCOW, September 30 – Novosti. Volodymyr Zelensky’s statement about Kyiv’s accelerated application for NATO membership sounds like a direct invitation to the Alliance to enter into a military conflict with the Russian Federation, Leonid Slutsky, leader of the Liberal Democratic Party and head of the Duma Committee on International Affairs, said.
Earlier, Zelensky said that Ukraine is applying to join NATO in an expedited manner. He also stated that Ukraine will not hold any negotiations with Russia as long as Vladimir Putin is president.
“Zelensky’s statement about Ukraine’s application to join NATO on an accelerated basis sounds like an invitation to the Alliance to enter into a direct military conflict with Russia. That is, to confront the leading nuclear powers,” Slutsky said in his telegram channel.
The parliamentarian also noted that Zelensky “in vain did not listen to the speech of Russian President Vladimir Putin,” since the only way now for Kyiv is to lay down arms and return to the negotiating table, and then the flow of bloody victims of the Kyiv regime will be stopped.
“And the Western masters of Kyiv should also weigh everything. I hope they understand where the “Wishlist” of their Kyiv puppets can lead in the current situation. We warned that Russia is not bluffing,” the parliamentarian said.
