MOSCOW, September 30 – Novosti. Partial mobilization of the population is carried out according to the categories of persons liable for military service, the characteristics of which are determined by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Reserve categories in the military card and accounting groups in the RA
A military ID is issued to conscripts aged 18 to 27 who were mobilized for service in the armed forces of the Russian Federation, as well as to those who were legally exempted from its passage and enrolled in the reserve, graduated from a higher military institution or studied at a military department. A military ID is required when applying for a job, since the employer is obliged to report a military officer to the commissariat, when processing some documents in state bodies, without it, banks may refuse a loan. At the moment, it is issued not only in the classic paper version, but also in electronic form (it looks like a bank card), on the chip of which the personal and biometric data of a citizen are recorded.
Military duty does not end after completing military service: all persons liable for military service are enrolled in accordance with Article 53 of Law No. 53-FZ in a certain reserve category. This is done so that, if necessary, mobilization can be carried out clearly and in an organized manner. Depending on which troops the Russian served in, the “Accounting Group” column may contain “RA” (Russian Army) or “Navy” (Navy), these columns do not change throughout life, unlike reserve categories and health groups.
Decryption
Reservists, depending on age and rank, are divided into three categories, which indicate in what order a citizen will be called up for military service, if necessary. The first group includes those who, during mobilization, must replenish the ranks of the Russian army in the first place, then comes the second group, the third comes in turn only if there is an urgent need for personnel. These groups have been assigned to absolutely all persons liable for military service, not only to those who have completed military service, but also to those who have an eligibility category that exempts them from conscription, who have performed alternative service or received a deferment. During the mobilization, it is these people who will immediately be called upon to defend the country. In category 1 are all those who have completed military service and those who officially participated in hostilities. It includes:
- —privates, sailors, warrant officers, midshipmen, sergeants, foremen under 35 years old;
- —junior officers up to 45 years old (lieutenants, captains);
- —senior officers up to 50 years old (majors, lieutenant colonels);
- —captains of the first rank and colonels under 55;
- —senior officers up to 60 years.
2 category
The conscription of these people will be carried out in the second wave of mobilization, this category also includes those who did not complete military service for various reasons (postponement, health status, etc.). The second category includes:
- —privates from 35 to 45 years;
- —junior officers from 45 to 50 years old;
- —senior officers from 50 to 65 years old.
3 category
Reservists of the third category are called up for military service last. It includes:
- —privates from 45 to 50 years;
- —junior officers from 50 to 60 years old;
- —senior officers under 65;
- —conscripted women from 45 to 50 years old.
Peculiarities
Upon reaching a certain age or for health reasons, citizens can be completely excluded from the lists of reservists or move from group to group. In addition, there are categories of suitability that also directly affect the assignment of a store to any group:
- —A – fit for military service;
- —B – fit with minor restrictions;
- —B – limited fit;
- —D – temporarily unfit;
- —D – not suitable.
During the period of mobilization, the conscription includes persons belonging to categories A, B, C and D.
How to determine and where to see the stock category in a military ID
If a citizen has served in the army for at least a year or participated in military conflicts, regardless of the length of stay in a hot spot, he belongs to the first category. The second will contain everyone who did not do military service for one reason or another, even exemption from the army for limited fitness does not remove the person liable for military service from the register. Only those who are completely exempt from military service are not assigned a reserve category.

Paragraph 23 indicates one of the three reserve categories to which the reservist belongs.
Paragraph 24 “Accounting Group” contains the abbreviation RA (Russian Army) or Navy (Navy).

Paragraph 26 contains information about the military registration specialty ( VUS ) and its code designation, which is obtained during military service and may differ from civilian. It is these functions that the conscript will perform in the conditions of mobilization.

Also, the VUS may contain the letter:
