MOSCOW, September 30 – Novosti. The Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia instructed to check in the regions the facts of overpricing of goods for mobilized citizens, the press service of the supervisory agency reports.
“The Prosecutor General’s Office, with the involvement of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, organized an inspection to determine if manufacturers, suppliers and retail chain organizations (including online commerce) overestimate the cost of products demanded as part of partial mobilization,” the report says.
“Regional prosecutors have been instructed to check on the ground the availability and affordability of thermal underwear, sleeping bags, shoes, medicines and medical essentials and other goods for which there is now an increased demand,” the release states.
The department explained that a full range of prosecutorial response measures will be taken in response to the identified violations to prevent the artificial shortage of these products and the unreasonable increase in their price. The state of legality in the field of pricing is under special control in the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation.
