WASHINGTON, September 30 – Novosti. The United States has imposed sanctions against the Federation Council, according to the US Treasury Department.
“Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation . The purpose of the sanctions is a public entity,” the updated list of the Office for Foreign Assets Control of the US Treasury says .
Sanctions against the upper house of the Russian parliament were introduced for being “a political subdivision, agency or instrument of the Russian government,” the agency said.
In addition, deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, against whom no restrictive measures were previously introduced, fell under the sanctions, the report said.
