WASHINGTON, September 30 – Novosti. The US administration is ready to impose sanctions against foreign citizens and legal entities for supporting referendums in territories not controlled by Kyiv, the US Treasury Department said on Friday.

On September 23, the G7 leaders issued a statement condemning the bogus Russian referendums and noting their collective willingness to impose additional economic sanctions against Russia , as well as individuals and entities both inside and outside the Russian Federation, who exert political or economic support for Russia’s illegal attempts to change the status of Ukrainian territories,” follows from a document published by the US agency.
At the same time, the document emphasizes that US sanctions will not be imposed “against Ukraine or the Ukrainian people, including those living in territories occupied or allegedly annexed by Russia.”
