“Directly and indirectly, Russian financial technocrats are supporting the Kremlin’s unprovoked war. Today’s sanctions target key figures who, in top leadership positions, personally enriched themselves by assisting Putin’s war in Ukraine,” the press release says.
With regard to Skorobogatova , her role as the curator of the Russian payment system “Mir” and “operations of the Central Bank in the Russian and foreign financial markets” is emphasized. Novak is said to have been actively involved in expanding Russian exports throughout his career.
