WASHINGTON, September 30 – Novosti. US President Joe Biden continues to believe that a diplomatic solution to the conflict in Ukraine is possible on the principles of the UN, and this position is synchronized with the Ukrainian authorities, said his national security adviser Jake Sullivan.
“President Biden believes that a diplomatic solution in Ukraine is possible, but only on the basic principles of the UN charter, which everyone has signed … He continues to believe in it quite strongly,” Sullivan said at a briefing at the White House.
According to him, from everyday contacts with the Ukrainian leadership, including Volodymyr Zelensky , there was an impression in Washington that “they adhere to the same point of view.” At the same time, Sullivan refused to comment on Zelensky’s statement about refusing to negotiate with Russia until the president is replaced there. “I, unfortunately, do not know the context of this statement, so I cannot answer,” he said.
